Personalised Jewellery - 3 ways to make it your own

Personalised Jewellery - 3 ways to make it your own

Engraving

Engraving your piece can be a great way to express love, hold memories and personalise a gift for yourself or loved ones. In addition, both include the option of numbers to remember special dates. The top two ways we recommend are as follows:

Hand engraving -

This is a process that involves the jeweler using a graver tool to hand carve out writing in your jewellery. This can create a similar look to calligraphy.

Laser engraving -

Laser engraving is done usually when a piece is hallmarked. Many assay offices (Establishments that test and verify metals before marking them) offer this service. A variety of images and samples of handwriting can be engraved by machine through this service.

Custom rings

When you find a jeweller that carries the style of jewellery you have been looking for, you can take the process one step further by working with them to design and make a custom piece for you. This service will take longer than buying a pre-existing design but you will be able to have your say in ideation, customisation and will be able to provide revisions and alterations on the design until it is finished.

Here at RoyBoy, we are always excited for the moment our next custom order comes through as we love working with our customers to make something new and specific to their taste. To craft a one of a kind piece with us, visit our Custom Pieces page.

Workshops

Finally, if you like a hands-on approach when selecting a gift for yourself or someone else, workshops are a fantastic option for complete personalisation and creative freedom. There are many classes and courses out there ranging from silversmithing to wax carving so have a shop around.

Call us biased but we highly recommend the RoyBoy Wax to Silver Workshop where you get to carve your own design out of jewellers wax before we send it off to be cast into silver treacle, finished and then sent back to you to enjoy! Check out our workshops here to see when our next event is. We’d love to catch you there.
